Earth Observatory "Black Marble" Imagery

There are currently two years for which composites have been made: 2012 and 2016.
Each directory is laid out as such:

YYYY
 - globalmaps : Global, cylindrical maps of the imagery in both color and grayscale (JPEG and GeoTIFF EPSG:4326)
                in two different resolutions:
                - 01deg : 3600x1800 global image
                - 3km   : 13500x6750 global image

 - tiles : Full resolution (500m) image tiles in both color and grayscale (JPEG and GeoTIFF EPSG:4326).
           The tiles correspond to the globe as documented at https://visibleearth.nasa.gov/grid.php
