These directories contain the same types of files that you can download
individually from the NEO website (http://neo.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/). Not every
directory contains imagery of every dataset for various reasons. Be sure to read
the README file in the respective directory for more information regarding the
contents.

  -- gs: grayscale PNG

  -- rgb: colored PNG using default palette for the dataset

  -- geotiff: raster (8 bit) geotiff using default palette for the dataset
     **THIS IS RASTER ONLY** If you want data-like values look in geotiff.float

  -- sst_hurricane: Sea Surface Temperature (interpolated microwave) colored
     using a palette that highlights cold water tracks following hurricanes and
     other storms. For more information see:

For these "data-like" formats, please be aware of the caveats when using these
as they are not the original source data. Read more about these formats at

  -- geotiff.float: floating point geotiff

  -- cvs: comma separated values

For the geotiff and cvs directories, not every dataset has been exported yet.
If there is a dataset that you would like to have in geotiff just let me know.
